Faith

So this week, idk, I feel like we've got some real work to do. I really love these people. I just wanna see them happy, but it's like ahhhhhh why don't you believe me! Like ya know ya just gotta pray. Just ask God if it is true, just come to church, it doesn't even gotta be for the whole thing. Just feel this power, try it out. It's pretty dope ya know. Super loco idk.

There's a scripture I think I've read a bout a billion times to people this week that's in Alma 32:27 and it is Alma the younger comparing faith to a plant and what he says is: 

"But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words."

And he explains how it's like a plant more later. But what I love about it is like, it doesn't seem to be something that just springs into a massive faith, it's gradual, it's special and like ssturdy.so if you just try the little things, like praying for help and knowledge and love. Or going to Church, God will give you just a sprinkling, and with that, faith and hope and love and greatness... that will all grow. Just give er a chance ya know.

Nothin crazy to say this week to be honest. I started working on understanding Isaiah this week so ya know... that's a rollercoaster. But something that stood out to me this week is the dedication of prophets in the past. Many times people are literally taking them captive and making them slaves or killing their people. And yet they still carry on. Because they found out for themselves that the path of the gospel is a hard path, but it's easier than all of the other paths that we have. That's just the way it is. Challenge is how we learn to be like Christ, for He truly suffered more challenges than all of us.

But there's this scripture in Philippians 4:13 that says:

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me"

Which just sounds so epic. And it's so true. But sometimes it really just isn't what we expected, actually most times. But if you want the treasure that no one else has found, you have to go where no one else has gone. We don't ever go where no one else has gone truly. But sometimes it feels that way. But that's where the treasure lies. Stay the course.

Bro, this week has just been a dream. I'm not even sure what really happened this week. I learned that hills are a great way to lose weight because I think I've climbed about a billion of them at this point. We need to buy motorized bikes like all these ticos have. That would be great.

As far as the work goes, it's not bad. However, we have been trying to work through some difficult situations. For instance, one of the families we thought was really progressing, we love this family, we just received a message from them that we cannot talk about baptism with them again so like... this should be interesting as a missionary hahaha. No it's really not too bad I think one of them was just offended when we mentioned that she needs to be baptized again. So Ya. The work here is super dope here though. And the food is great too, I am currently eating some orange chicken that is just golden so yeah can't complain really.

There's a joke we say a lot as missionaries whenever something doesn't go the way we want. and it's darn agency. My amazing family and some other really great friends have taught me that it doesn't matter too much the response we get back when we are trying to do the best we can. God has promised blessings based on the actions we take. Not based on the responses the others give. I love y'all. God loves ya.
