Pinguinos🐧

No sorry there aren't any actual penguins here in Costa Rica. Pretty devastating. But there are those ding dong cup cakes from the states that they have renamed pinguinos basically. Super good, bought some from the store just now. Would recommend.

Other than that it's just been kinda pouring this morning and as of recently. And when it's not pouring its pretty hot so just getting used to sweating has just been quite an interesting mission. And as always, we have our amazing friend Juan who has been coming to church for 8 weeks now, has all of the lessons except for Temples, and lives everything right, but doesn't feel ready for baptism, it's not like I've never seen that before, but it's fine.🫥 He will be baptized soon enough🌊

As for me, tomorrow is transfer day when I write this, been here in Guacimo for 6 months almost, don't know what's gonna happen but it's been quite a wild ride. I am grateful for the Lord's refining fire and forging hand in my life, as well as some absolutely awesome times and relationships that I've been able to have. I like a quote that mentions regarding these relationships, that the people who we come in contact with are truly immortal beings, or better said, there spirits are immortal, destined to be housed one day within an immortal frame through the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. So those people that we get along with and love, they will be there a while. And the ones that maybe don't connect so well, just as long. Could be time to work on those relationships. Hoping to do the same.

Cataratatata

Ok ok ok, alright, so we went to a waterfall today as a district. Absolute blast, it's called Las Golondrinas. Would recommend if you're gonna swing by Costa Rica any time soon👀 but yeah so there was this guy there that had all of these little dogs following him. But most of the little dogs we meet are like vicious monsters basically so that was cool😳

I really liked studying the book of Mormon this week, studying it has been a strong foundation for the truth of this church. Being able to read the Book of Mormon had been a blessing of peace for me on the mission that I don't think I could replace. Would recommend reading the BofM when you are having a struggle or too many thoughts in your head.

I'm still here, believe it or not👀

ok, so yeah, it is a problem. I am really not one to be writing these emails as like a weekly right but... yeah, we are out here fr fr. Still in the same area that I was in when I sent the last email to be honest. Not too crazy, pretty cool place. Lots of jungle. I have seen some sloth walking on power lines that has been quite an experience, literally mid lesson. pretty epic

Other than that, I have really loved studying the teachings of President Thomas S Monson. I know that God is a God of Justice. We will be judged for our works.(Revelation 20:12) We will receive the recompense of our actions that we choose to take. Don't slack off.💪

However, through the love of our redeemer, Jesus Christ, God is also a God of Mercy. Do all that you can. Then stand still, with the utmost assurance that the hand of God will redeem you. In fact it already has redeemed you, you are completely covered, He just requires the token of your commitment, the best you can do, you're all. (2 Nephi 25:23) Love you guys

Please, send me an email, I'd love to talk to you a little better.

Independence day, but like, not in July🤨

Yeah, so central America just like isn't the states its a fact I actually had to take a good little while to get over but its alright we're here now. When I write this its independence day for them so to be honest I'm not really sure who's gonna wanna listen to us tonight but I have faith its alright.😁😅😬 nah it'll be fine haha.

But other than that, I have really just been kept in this area, the pure heat🥵 its not too terrible though it's a nice reminder of home but man it is just an absolute oven, It's been quite an experience. But it makes buying a Gatorade or a drink at the end of the day just knocked up to a whole nother level. So that's kinda the greatest part of my day now😆

Haha but really now, I have noticed the Spirit a lot recently and the power it has in our lives, specifically in bringing us the joy that our Father in Heaven so desperately wants for us. In 2 Nephi it says 'Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy'. Not every moment will be perfect and it takes a lot of affliction in order to forge the person God would make of you, but we are here to have Joy. It's not easy, but it is possible. And if we work to keep the Spirit of God in our hearts and in our lives, the path of Joy will be ours, the path TO Joy, and the path OF Joy.

Love yall,

my 'weekly', maybe monthly

Yeah, it's been a minute. I really miss you guys. But it's good to be here. There's been some quite tiring days. There's been some good days. I don't know how to really describe what point I have reached in my mission. I feel like it's been so long that I don't recognize the person who I was when I started the mission. It's like weird I feel cheesy saying that. There are all of these things I hear happening back home that shock me. There are new movies, new news stories, new politics, new famous people or whatever. People on the streets yelling at me saying the american dollar is going down and that america is dying or whatever, kinda fed up with those people.

But I have appreciated this time of learning and growing during the time I have been here. I have found the lives of others be changed. In an evergoing process that we all go through, they have taken step after step to the glory of God. And I know that I have been an instrument in that. I'm sorry if you know that's the same old stuff you hear from missionaries lol but I don't have much else to give you but my time of preaching lol sorry.

I know that my Redeemer lives. I have no doubt. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true. It has changed my life. I want to be better each and every day and I know that this gospel will change your life as it has changed mine and that of those around me. Just. Keep. Going.
